Adidas King of the Road 2013 race pack

The below is the race pack for this year Adidas King of the Road 2013. Paying $40 for a 10km run doesn't seem worth it. They only gave a sling bag, running singlet and some trial Adidas anti-perspirant and Tiger Balm muscle run. No snacks bar or hydration water.  :(
This will be my 3rd 10km run on 11th August 2013. Hope this route will be better than the last run.

2nd Oakley sunglasses

Finally got the Oakley sunglasses that I am eyeing for, Radarlock Path.  I got it from the Oakley Singapore Shades (Facebook) at $340.  I know buy straight from the web will be cheaper but the price I got already cheaper than the retailer shop about 30%. I ordered on 10 June and got it on 02 Jul.

Education Farm Visit @ Sekinchan Malaysia (21 - 22 June) and Genting Trip (23 - 26 June)

Another driving trip up north to Sekinchan and follow-by Genting.  Visited some relatives at Sekinchan and they are kind to bring us around for an education farm visit.  Some interesting facts we got was how the name 'Sekinchan' came about.

Letting the kids understand where their daily cooked rice come from.

Due to the demand of bird nest, people are very creative in meeting the demands.  Commercialise Bird nest Farming.  Built building and pipe in with sparrow's sound 24 hours so ask to attach them to enter into the building to build their nest.

Finally is our usual trip to the cheapest coolest place near to Singapore.  We went into the Snow City in Genting and the temperature is -6 degree.  Feel the cold but the snow are fake.  :(

Will go and experience real snow in time to come.....

Pocari Sweat Run 2013 on 16 Jun

Join this run with my wife on 16 Jun 2013 and this was her 2nd 10km run since we started on Mar this year.  The start and end point was at The Promontory @ Marina Bay.  The route passed by Gardens by the Bay, Marina Barrage and MBS.  The most challenging portion was the route up and down Marina Barrage.  In addition, barriers to divide to and fro for the runners at the barrage were not well divided that causes some hazards for the runners. 
The finished timing target for this run was not met as we finished at 1hr 20min instead of 1hr 8min base on our last Run350 run.

Pocari Sweat Run 2013 race pack

The below is the race pack for this year 2013 Pocari Sweat Run. Beside the usual  blue running singlet, there are one bottle of pocari sweat water and also a visor.
I am joining the 10km run on 16th June 2013. The start point is at The Promontory @ Marina Bay. Hope it will be a good run.

1st Oakley sunglasses

This is my 1st Oakley (think is M Frame Hybrid model) sunglasses that I got my friend to buy for me when he was in USA.  He bought it at US$170 after discount.  However, this was not the model (Radar Path) that I told him to get for me.  Anyway, I will still wear it and will look out for the model that I want soon.

My Epi-lasik Experience (Dec 2012)

After much thought, I think it will be good for me to share on my lasik experience to people out there for those who are still thinking hard should he/she go through such so-called dangerous operation.

I started to wear spectacle at the age of 10 years old with a degree of 150 (Nearsightedness (myopia)) for both eyes and my vision started to get more blurry as I age till I hit 600 degree at the age of 34 in 2012.  Technology has improved and I started to know more about lasik in 2010 when I heard my friends had done it safely without complication.  I only started to take up this so-call dangerous operation (myth: may go blind) only in mid 2012 when one of my colleagues did his lasik and he was very supportive for me to take up as our working environment allowed us to go through the ops and had time for recovery.  Hence on 18 Oct 2012, I went to Clearvision Eye Clinic Lasik Centre (http://www.clearvision.com.sg/)  for my 1st eye checkup to find out was my eyes suitable for such operation.  I was recommended by Dr Tony Ho to do the Epi-Lasik process as the process was more suitable for us working in active environment (military) and it would not have dry eye effect.  However, the negative side was the recovery rate would be much slower than other process. 

I did my lasik operation on 27 Dec 2012 and I took about 4 weeks in order to see normally. For the 1st 3 days after ops, my vision was blur. At night, all those lighting would glow; hence it is not advisable to drive or move about. After my 1st review, I took another 3 to 4 days (Total 7 days from ops) to go back to the after ops conditions. I only started to drive 1 week later after my ops. In the 1st month of ops, I need to increase my monitor/ mobile font size in order to read the content properly. I have to use font size 28 in typing during my recovery stage. Based on doctor, we can only run after 2 weeks, but I waited for another week due to my degree was 600+. 

I only able to achieve up to 6/6 vision (perfect vision) on the 4th weeks. Hence, it is best to look through your schedule before you decide to do this epi-lasik process. It's take time to recover and it is very importance to let our eyes recover better before you make it worst and waste your money.

A up and coming 'Yan Dao' to be.  A sun shade provided by the clinic for us to shade away the sun glare. Basically is to protect our eyes.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the operation.  My usual spectacle shop boss told me that he would still have business on me as I would go back and buy more sun shade, which is true, and it cost even more (lolz). Another positive experience is that I do not need to search for my spectacle everytime I wake up from my sleep/nap.
