My first SCMR and my last run event for the year 2013.

Cold Storage mini-Triathlon 2013 race pack

This is my first experience on triathlon event and I started with mini series first.  It comprises 200m swim, 10km bike, 2km run.  Heehee....

Below are the race route and realised that mini series swimming area is the same as Kids categories.  So pai sei  >.<  

The event will be on 28 Sep 2013, Saturday at East Coast Pack.  Looking forward for this experience. 

POSB PAssion Run for Kids on 8 Sep

POSB PAssion Run for Kids here we come.  Walking passed MBS....

However, it's a rainy day again.  Our kids first running event by themselves never materialize.   The organising committee cancelled the kids categories as the kids running routes were wet. So sad....

No run but they had snacks from the event tent. Pop corn, drinks...

No run but still entitled for metal to show that they were brave enough to take part in this event.

Will get them to join for next year event.

POSB PAssion Run for Kids 2013 race pack

Signed up this event for both my kids and this is the first time they are running by themselves. The event will be on 8 Sep 2013, Sunday @ Marina Promontory.  Eager to see their performance. A lot of free stuffs..

Adidas King of the Road on 11 Aug

My 3rd 10km run never materialise due to whole island heavy rain that started around 6am and only stop at 8+am. So sad.....

This photo was taken at the entrance of esplanade.  Waiting for good news but the official then announced the race is cancelled. SMS was sent later on about the cancellation of the race. :(

Durian Lesson

Have got a durian lesson on how to differential 猫山王 and D24 durian. After eating so many years of durian, this is the first time I got a skill impart by the master.

The 'star' shape at the bottom of the durian means this durian is 猫山王 type.

The 'belly button' shape at the bottom means this durian is D24 type. Also D24 durian shell is thick. Hence, need to look out for these two factors. Fake D24 has the 'belly button' shape but the shell is thin. So must be careful.

ST run in the park 2013 race pack

This is the first time Straits Time organising a running event this year. It will be held at Punggol Waterway pack on 25 Aug 2013.  The race pack did not look fantastic as there were only running shirt and Sentosa Sea Aquarium tickets.  However, the Sea Aquarium tickets already worth the money for signing up this event.  Not so good about the running shirt is the shirt size for kids.  They were having male size cutting at XXS or XS.  Was told another goodies bag will be given on the day itself.  Will look forward for the event goodies bag.

Adidas King of the Road 2013 race pack

The below is the race pack for this year Adidas King of the Road 2013. Paying $40 for a 10km run doesn't seem worth it. They only gave a sling bag, running singlet and some trial Adidas anti-perspirant and Tiger Balm muscle run. No snacks bar or hydration water.  :(
This will be my 3rd 10km run on 11th August 2013. Hope this route will be better than the last run.

2nd Oakley sunglasses

Finally got the Oakley sunglasses that I am eyeing for, Radarlock Path.  I got it from the Oakley Singapore Shades (Facebook) at $340.  I know buy straight from the web will be cheaper but the price I got already cheaper than the retailer shop about 30%. I ordered on 10 June and got it on 02 Jul.

Education Farm Visit @ Sekinchan Malaysia (21 - 22 June) and Genting Trip (23 - 26 June)

Another driving trip up north to Sekinchan and follow-by Genting.  Visited some relatives at Sekinchan and they are kind to bring us around for an education farm visit.  Some interesting facts we got was how the name 'Sekinchan' came about.

Letting the kids understand where their daily cooked rice come from.

Due to the demand of bird nest, people are very creative in meeting the demands.  Commercialise Bird nest Farming.  Built building and pipe in with sparrow's sound 24 hours so ask to attach them to enter into the building to build their nest.

Never done it before - 'Fire Cracker'!

Finally is our usual trip to the cheapest coolest place near to Singapore.  We went into the Snow City in Genting and the temperature is -6 degree.  Feel the cold but the snow are fake.  :(

Will go and experience real snow in time to come.....

Pocari Sweat Run 2013 on 16 Jun

Join this run with my wife on 16 Jun 2013 and this was her 2nd 10km run since we started on Mar this year.  The start and end point was at The Promontory @ Marina Bay.  The route passed by Gardens by the Bay, Marina Barrage and MBS.  The most challenging portion was the route up and down Marina Barrage.  In addition, barriers to divide to and fro for the runners at the barrage were not well divided that causes some hazards for the runners. 
The finished timing target for this run was not met as we finished at 1hr 20min instead of 1hr 8min base on our last Run350 run.

Pocari Sweat Run 2013 race pack

The below is the race pack for this year 2013 Pocari Sweat Run. Beside the usual  blue running singlet, there are one bottle of pocari sweat water and also a visor.
I am joining the 10km run on 16th June 2013. The start point is at The Promontory @ Marina Bay. Hope it will be a good run.

1st Oakley sunglasses

This is my 1st Oakley (think is M Frame Hybrid model) sunglasses that I got my friend to buy for me when he was in USA.  He bought it at US$170 after discount.  However, this was not the model (Radar Path) that I told him to get for me.  Anyway, I will still wear it and will look out for the model that I want soon.
